Cricket is a fast-rising sport/game in Nigeria that the British incorporated in the 19th century. The sport is governed and coordinated by the Nigeria Cricket Federation, affiliated with the International Cricket Council since 2002.

Nigeria's cricket team has been featured in various local, national, and international tournaments and championships. While the players performed better, the federation is making adequate plans to see that the skills of the Nigerian cricket players are improved in such a way that they can confidently compete with other well-known international cricket teams.

To make the sports more viral, the federation has also incorporated the sports into schools, forming parts of their sports curricula (otherwise known as grassroots development) and also to various sporting activities and events to promote the sports effectively and develop the skills of aspiring cricket players to come out better.
