Nigeria Host The Sub-Regional T20 Qualifying Tournament

The Nigeria Cricket Federation on the 5th of March 2018 received the final Approval by the International Cricket Council to host the Sub-Regional T20 qualifying Tournament scheduled to hold from April 12 to April 22 2018 at the Tafawa Balewa Cricket Oval in Lagos Nigeria.

Mr. Kuben who spoke to the press in Lagos said the ICC was pleased with the level of readiness expressed by Nigeria regarding the regional tournament.

Speaking also was Mr. Uyi Akpata and the Vice President of the Nigerian Cricket Federation they explained that the desire to host this was conceived out of the desire to reposition the sport since he resumed office eight months ago.

Twenty-two players out of thirty-three players invited to camp passed the first trials. Three foreign-based players namely: Shola Anyia (United Kingdom), Dotun Olatunji (Canada)) and Saheed Akolade (Australia will team up from Monday, March 12, 2018, during the second phase”.
